Outline
The course will provide an understanding of estimation and standardised classification of petroleum reserves, which is broadly adopted by all oil and gas operators in order to evaluate projects, create business plans, and report the volumes as a standard practice to give a practical picture of the company's performance to the stakeholders
The course will also entail different methods of estimating hydrocarbons and discuss the classification frameworks covering a range of uncertainties and degrees of maturity for economic development. Students will be provided with Excel spreadsheets for exercises.
Prerequisite
Familiarity with Petroleum / Reservoir Engineering concepts is desirable but not an absolute necessity. Students and professionals are welcome to join the course and learn about the upstream production engineering domain.
